Cub Scout Camping List
There are lists online that you can reference for Cub Scout campouts, some are more extensive than necessary so please take this as a recommendation only.
Essential Items:
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad/cot/air mattress
- Pillow
- Tent (keep in mind tents are rated by person but this accounts for only people no gear inside)
- Lighting; flashlight/headlamp/lantern
- Camp Chair
- First aid kit (most leaders carry one but not a bad idea for a small one as a resource for smaller groups)
- Cooking stove/grill based on meals planned (Most families will have camping stoves/grills and we can share/coordinate cooking)
- Cooking fuel/propane if required for lanterns/stoves
- Mess Kit (cup, plate/bowl, silverware) you can also use paper/plastic products too for ease of use
- Cooking utensils (spoons, spatulas, pots/pans, etc)
- Cooler to keep food cold if needed
- Dish soap/sponge for dishes
- Water with container (water bottle/canteen)
- Food needed for meals/menu planned
- Clothes (temperatures change so check weather and be prepared for warm and cold weather as it varies)
- Class A and Class B uniform
- Cosmetics (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc)
Recommended Items:
- Tarp
- Smore’s stick (hangers without paint work great or nature is full of sticks)
- Water jug/container for washing hands/dishes
- Canopy/Easy Up for shade
- Table for either/both inside tent and outside to use to cook on
- Small broom to sweep tent
- Towel/paper towel
- Hiking boots
